The Envelope, please!

Sometimes nice things happen when you least expect them. This afternoon I received an email from one of the dear ladies I've met here in the blogosphere. She wanted to tell me that I had been nominated for a Thinking Blog award, which pleases me no end and for which I'm very grateful. Of course we all have thoughts on all sorts of things and I am no different. I've always got my mind wrapped around many ideas. Never one to simply "go with the flow" or take the easy way around controversial subjects, I've tried to maintain a certain "voice" here at the TP.

That voice is about to get louder.

And whether you agree or disagree with me I hope you'll at least give me a chance to prove my opinions. There's room for all here at the Turning Point and I think having the freedom to openly express your feelings is what makes blogging so enjoyable. I hope you always feel welcome to say what you think here and if you don't care for what I have to say, SAY SO!

So thanks to Hootin Anni for her kind words about my little blog. It warms my heart to know that somebody out there likes me - you really like me!! LOL..

As for my five nominees, my Thinking Awards go to the following blogs:

• The Jake Silver Show - I have tremendous respect for this young airman's blog. Jake spends alot of time blogging about his love for his family, his issues with diet and weight control, his love of the military (he's in the Air Force) and just life in general. He is very wise in spite of his young age and he's got alot on his mind. A daily must read for me.
  


• Irish Church Lady - Slainte! It's Only Me is my idea of a fantastic thinker's blog. ICL runs amuck with all things Irish and Canadian and has an opinion on just about everything to boot. She's witty, she's bright and she brings constant color and charisma to her blog. I consider her a kindred spirit.
  


• HooahWife - I've been following Greta and her band of merry bloggers since I started blogging back in 2005. I consider her one of the best female milbloggers around. Her wit, spunk and general knowledge of the military (she's a military spouse) and the world at large makes her truly deserving of this award. If you want to read a caring and concise commentary on all things military, go visit this blog.
  


• Joe Cool's Blog - I don't actually recall who found whom first, but I get a real kick when I read this blog. Jose writes about his devotion to his family, his job and his love of beautiful machinery (cars). His posts always make me think. He asks the questions everybody wants to know. He's blessed with a rich sense of humor, of common sense and the ability to wade through the everyday BS. I love his honesty. Don't miss his blog.
  


• Trying to Catch Up - I believe Barbara has been blogging for a number of years and it's nice to see her blog getting the recognition it so richly deserves. She's a working wife, mother, and a devotee of all avian creatures. Her blog is jam-packed with thought-provoking photos of the wildlife she loves and protects. When I want to feel good, I always stop by her wonderful site.
