Lazarus, Returned from Packing

No I did not die! I have to apologize for my absence the past couple of weeks. Other than the Saturday PhotoHunt, I haven't done any blogging. Ever since we sold our house, Hubs and I have been packing and reorganizing the contents of this place like a couple of whirling dervishes. Nine years of stuff on top of other stuff has compounded the problem.

There does, however, seem to be a light at the end of our tunnel. We have to be out of here by the end of April and I'm proud to say our effort is paying off.

I would show you the rest of the house, but it's pretty much in the same condition. I don't like disarray either. Another month of this and we should be back to normal (I hope!)...LOL.

When we moved from Illinois to here in Savannah I hated all of the mess!! We had the same look about things as you have now. We had about a month to do everything and we did it and made it all work out somehow!! I was so glad to get it all behind me. You will be too of course. Your home is not going to be ready by then. You must be going to move into something temporarily. All will work out..It did for us. Sandy

Hi carol,....The movers will only have to pick up the boxes and heavy furniture??? You and hubby have done a great job..How did your husband pack up his tools?? That is amazing!!! Good luck with your move.

Oh this looks like fun!! No really!!! I never minded packing and such....'cause I always knew that when done and resettled ---things will be all new and exciting and eventually worth the efforts and soreness experienced during the move!!!

How exciting!!!!

I bet you won't miss the cold winters!!! I know I never did....I faced the last Colorado winter and as I saw the state in my rear view mirror....I flipped it off and said....nary another snowflake will fall on my shoulders!!!

Happy day....don't forget to breathe.

Oh, and 9 years of collecting is all? Try moving 30+ years of rat packing!!! rofl

UGH! THIS is the part I do NOT envy you! Nor the UNpacking on the other end! Times like THIS is when I just want to sell the place AS IS and all it's belongings and just start over fresh in the new place!!! ROFL! I'm praying for a smoooooth transition for you - all the way around!

Oh how did I miss this post on my blog lines? Looking at all those boxes makes me so tired.

I agree with what Melli says. I look forward to the days of downsizing and getting rid of stuff. "Famous last words" LOL

You're doing an awesome job Carol.

I remember it well. We moved here 4 years ago after collecting 30 years of stuff. Hubby had already retired so he did most of the packing while I was at work.

The funny part of our move was the moving van wouldn't start and the men were trying to rock this huge packed to capacity truck to get it started. The moving company also under estimated the amount of "stuff" we had and we ended up having to make 7 more trips with our car and truck to get everything out. We can laugh about it now, but at the time it wasn't funny.

Hope your move goes more smoothly. Hope you'll like Jacksonville. We have lots of family there.
